Enoch Chen

Enoch Chen is a New York City–based violinist and educator. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Violin Performance and a Master's degree from New York University. As both a performer and teacher, he is committed to combining artistic excellence with thoughtful, individualized instruction.

His performance experience spans orchestral, chamber, theatrical, recording, and freelance work throughout New York City and internationally. Alongside performing, he teaches students from age six through adults, helping each student develop healthy technique, musical confidence, and lasting enjoyment of music.

Whether preparing students for auditions, recitals, school orchestra, or personal enrichment, Enoch believes every lesson should balance technical precision with creativity and musical expression.

Teaching Philosophy

Every student arrives with different goals, experiences, and ways of learning. Rather than following a rigid curriculum, I adapt each lesson to meet students where they are while providing a structured path toward long-term growth.

Lessons emphasize the fundamentals that support confident playing—posture, tone production, bow control, intonation, rhythm, ear training, and musical expression. Beyond teaching students what to practice, I help them understand why each concept matters so they can become increasingly independent musicians.

My goal is not only to help students play better, but to develop curiosity, discipline, and confidence that extend beyond the practice room.
